Inspiration Journals

So those of you who know me know I have a very serious journal/binder/organizer obsession. I have one for both of my boys and just about everything else in my life. It started with a simple craft binder but then I started one for recipes, household tips, kid's crafts and the list just kept growing.

Since Inspiration Journals seem to be all the buzz in the blogosphere lately I thought I would share a few of mine. Marta, who may be giving birth at this exact moment, recently gave some tips over at Petit Elefant on keeping different types of journals. I love the idea of a pregnancy one, I was stunned when I realized I didn't already have one! I can't wait to pull out all my stuff and artfully organize everything into one scrumptious binder!

I keep them in any fun type of binder I find. This one is for different craft ideas that I want to try or have tried and love. I found this Shabby Chic one on sale at Target for $2. I fill it with sheet protectors and tear the articles out as my magazines pour in. This helps reduce the amount of magazines I actually keep (which is still way too many). It also makes it easy to find projects when I need them.
This one is full of recipes. I usually cut them out as I find them but I don't tape them into my book until I try them and know that they're "book-worthy". This saves space and assures that my book will be filled with awesome recipes instead of baking blunders.

Also check out this post over at Blissfully Domestic to create an awesome recipe scrapbook, which is definitely next for me.
This is Ace's book. It's just a regular composition notebook with different kid crafts torn and pasted inside. He loves it and it really helps inspire his own creativity. He'll browse through it and then go create something with several ideas combined or with his own personal touches added to it. He also knows that when he's bored he can pull this out, pick a project and show me exactly what he wants to do. It saves time trying to find craft ideas in a gazillion mag's (not to mention my sanity).
We glue both magazine ideas and internet printouts inside.

What kind of journals do you keep? Share with us, we all love new ideas!!

BTW, Marta this will be finished and heading to a mailbox near you very soon! Hope all is well in Past Duedateland! We're rootin' for ya!
